GPT Single Safety Certificate

General Information

The Single Safety Certificate certifies that the railway enterprise has implemented a safety management system and has the capacity to fulfill its legally established obligations in accordance with Article 10, paragraph 3 of Directive (EU) 2016/798.

Access to the railway infrastructure should only be provided to railway enterprises that hold a valid single safety certificate.

The Single Safety Certificate is valid for a specified area of activity, i.e., for a network or networks within one or more Member States, in which a given railway enterprise intends to carry out its activity.

Applicants should submit applications for a single safety certificate through the "One-Stop Shop" system, referred to in Article 12 of Regulation (EU) 2016/796 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 on the European Union Agency for Railways and repealing Regulation (EC) No 881/2004. A railway enterprise operating solely within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria has the option to choose whether to submit the request for a single safety certificate to the national safety authority, in this case, the Executive Agency "Railway Administration", or to ERA.
